Who is The NY Times Trying to Warn?

I’m suspicious. By now most are familiar with the efforts of the NY Times to aid and abet the enemy.

In yet another disclosure of secret anti-terror activity on the part of the United States and cooperating allies, the NY Times seems to be, once again, working to defeat the U.S. in the war on terror.

But the curious thing is their interest in the movement of money to the terrorists. I wonder why this might be.

Could it be that folks associated with the NY Times are involved in sending money to the terrorists?

Could this be an effort to warn American leftists to be careful in how they send money to support the enemy?

Could this be an effort to tell those very prominent anti-Americans among us to cool it sending money to the terrorists; the trail to your door may be getting hot?

There is something suspicious going on here; more than meets the eye.

“Insurgent Groups Mourn al-Zarqawi’s Death”

That’s the hilarious headline on Yahoo where an ABC retread runs the pro-terrorist news operation.

I wonder who else is mourning Zarqawi’s death? The Democrat Party maybe?

From the Yahoo headline it looks like the American media is mourning his death too.

I guess we took out one of the liberal’s generals.

And they wonder why we think they’re anti-American and pro-terrorist.

Hilarious.

9th Circuit Ok With God in Public School!

Posted by Eric at 8:10 am. Filed under: War / Terrorism

The ninth circuit court has ruled that it is ok for public school kids to be put through a role play that recites prayers, memorizes professions of faith, and chanting praises to god at the teacher’s direction.

You might be surprised at this news, until you realize that the god they endorse is Allah.

In our brave new schools, Johnny can’t say the pledge, but he can recite the Quran. Yup, the same court that found the phrase “under God” unconstitutional now endorses Islamic catechism in public school.

In a recent federal decision that got surprisingly little press, even from conservative talk radio, California’s 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled it’s OK to put public-school kids through Muslim role-playing exercises, including:

Reciting aloud Muslim prayers that begin with “In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful . . . .”

Memorizing the Muslim profession of faith: “Allah is the only true God and Muhammad is his messenger.”

Chanting “Praise be to Allah” in response to teacher prompts.

Professing as “true” the Muslim belief that “The Holy Quran is God’s word.”

Giving up candy and TV to demonstrate Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.

Designing prayer rugs, taking an Arabic name and essentially “becoming a Muslim” for two full weeks.

IBD thinks it’s a national security issue.

So what? By infiltrating our public school system, the Saudis hope to make Islam more widely accepted while converting impressionable American youth to their radical cause. Recall that John Walker Lindh, the “American Taliban,” was a product of the California school system. What’s next, field trips to Mecca?

This case is critical not just to our culture but our national security. It should be brought before the Supreme Court, which has outlawed prayer in school. Let’s see what it says about practicing Islam in class. It will be a good test for the bench’s two new conservative justices.

Michelle adds:

Meanwhile, creeping sharia in the public schools continues apace. Seattle is preparing to consider a proposal to accomodate Muslim student prayers.

Related: Kids in Kentucky are fighting to recite the Lord’s Prayer at commencement.

AT&T Whistleblower NSA Documents

Posted by Eric at 11:04 am. Filed under: War / Terrorism

If you haven’t seen ‘em yet, check out the documents that Wired News has posted.

Here we present Klein’s statement in its entirety, with inline links to all of the document excerpts where he cited them. You can also download the complete file here (pdf). The full AT&T documents are filed under seal in federal court in San Francisco.

Subsequently, Wired explains why they are publishing these documents which were under a limited court seal.

Based on what we’ve seen, Wired News disagrees. In addition, we believe the public’s right to know the full facts in this case outweighs AT&T’s claims to secrecy.

As a result, we are publishing the complete text of a set of documents from the EFF’s primary witness in the case, former AT&T employee and whistle-blower Mark Klein — information obtained by investigative reporter Ryan Singel through an anonymous source close to the litigation. The documents, available on Wired News as of Monday, consist of 30 pages, with an affidavit attributed to Klein, eight pages of AT&T documents marked “proprietary,” and several pages of news clippings and other public information related to government-surveillance issues.

The court’s gag order is very specific in barring only the EFF, its representatives and its technical experts from discussing and disseminating this information. The court explicitly rejected AT&T’s motion to include Klein in the gag order and declined AT&T’s request to force the EFF to return the documents.

Wired’s conclusion?

This is the infrastructure for an Orwellian police state. It must be shut down!

TSA’s Emasculated SPOT Program

Posted by Eric at 12:39 pm. Filed under: War / Terrorism

The TSA has a new system for spotting terrorists, it’s the creative idea of watching people’s behavior as they go through airport checkpoints. There is even a clever acronym: Screening Passengers by Observation Techniques (SPOT).

But they are quick to point out, in the interest of not offending Middle Eastern males, that the program is just for show and has no real brains behind it.

Here’s how it works: Select TSA employees will be trained to identify suspicious individuals who raise red flags by exhibiting unusual or anxious behavior, which can be as simple as changes in mannerisms, excessive sweating on a cool day, or changes in the pitch of a person’s voice. Racial or ethnic factors are not a criterion for singling out people, TSA officials say. Those who are identified as suspicious will be examined more thoroughly; for some, the agency will bring in local police to conduct face-to-face interviews and perhaps run the person’s name against national criminal databases and determine whether any threat exists. If such inquiries turn up other issues countries with terrorist connections, police officers can pursue the questioning or alert Federal counterterrorism agents. And of course the full retinue of baggage x-rays, magnatometers and other checks for weapons will continue.

“Man, that guy matches the ethnic and gender profile of 99% of the those who have carried out terrorist attacks. Oh, wait, I can’t notice that, I have to check to see if he’s sweating or if his voice changed pitch.”

Incredible.

The SPOT program comes none too soon, since the current TSA system of screening for threats on airplanes has been, well, spotty. Earlier this month TSA screeners not trained in the SPOT program pulled over three Marines in dress uniform for special screening. After being patted down and scrutinized closely, the Marines were finally let go and allowed to continue their duties — escorting the body of one of their colleagues killed in Iraq.

Trading one useless process for another. Just in the nick of time.

Moussaoui Denied Martyrdom

Posted by Eric at 5:37 am. Filed under: War / Terrorism

While some may cry that it’s a tragedy of justice, it seems that death and martyrdom were just what Moussaoui wanted. Life without the possibility of parole seems to me to be a worse punishment than death. After 50 years in the super max with no outside contact (which let’s hope means no book deal), he’ll certainly not be enjoying himself and taunting 9/11 victims.

Moussaoui lost, America won today. Some may say life is too good for him, but I think justice has been served.

And we don’t have to spend the next three years following a series of high profile appeals continuing to mock the victims of 9/11.

:::

But Rusty defends his position, maintaining that the “don’t make him a martyr” thinking can’t really work consistently, and he has a point.

UPDATE: Fuzzy logic alert from friends and readers. So, you’re happy that Moussaoui got life in prison because killing him would have made him a martyr? That does make a kind of superficial sense, but think about it. By that logic, no jihadi should ever be killed!

Ayman al-Zawahiri shouldn’t be killed because that would make him a martyr. Osama bin Laden’s cave shouldn’t be bombed because getting 72 virgins is what he wants anyway. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi wants to be a martyr, making him live in the empty quarter is a far harsher punishment.

Allah agrees with the above, “Does that apply to Bin Laden too? If he turns around tomorrow and says the worst thing we could to him is supply him with lots of prostitutes, do we call the Mustang Ranch?”

UPDATE: He won’t be kept in GP–general population–… Instead, he’ll have a private jail cell for the next 30 years, where he’ll have a Koran delivered to him by a prison guard with white gloves every morning, he’ll be given a prayer mat, and he’ll have an imam come visit him once a week to discuss his misunderstanding of the word “jihad” in the Koran.

And Vinnie adds something that I simply cannot agree with:

No matter what you think of the sentencing, the trial, the jurors, always think this:

Never forget, never forgive.

I can go along with “never forget” because forgetting history causes it to be repeated, but to not forgive is a dangerous thing. The anger and bitterness that live alongside of the lack of forgiveness will tear you up inside over time, and then the terrorists have won. Forgive. Remember the tragedy but forgive the actions and free yourself of the burden of bitterness. It’s not just the right Sunday school answer, it’s truth.

Atlanta Rofters thinks the sentence is just.

I think this is the most just verdict. We can’t put the 9/11 killers to death; they’re already dead. And Moussaoui didn’t kill anybody. So, life in solitary confinement is what he deserves. If nothing else, it demonstrates once again the humane superiority of our justice system to that of our enemies.

He also adds, over at Rusty’s comment section:

I support capital punishment, but I think this is the right verdict. Moussaoui didn’t kill anyone, so the death penalty would have been unjust in his case. And justice is what we want from a jury, not vengeance.

The “martyrdom” thing is a red herring. Islamic ideas of the hereafter should have no bearing on how we run our court system.

Joyner disagrees:

Incredible. If Moussaoui doesn’t deserve to die for his crimes, almost no one currently on death row does. Those who argue that the current system of capital punishment is arbitrary and capricious have much more ammunition now.

UPDATE: Now, if we turn him over to France, that would be a travesty of justice.

Indrek Wichman Speaks Out

Posted by Eric at 8:37 am. Filed under: War / Terrorism

Michelle reports on Professor Wichman’s controversial email.

Dear Moslem Association: As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intened to protest your protest.
I am offended not by cartoons, but by more mundane things like beheadings of civilians, cowardly attacks on public buildings, suicide murders, murders of Catholic priests (the latest in Turkey!), burnings of Christian chirches, the continued persecution of Coptic Christians in Egypt, the imposition of Sharia law on non-Muslims, the rapes of Scandinavain girls and women (called “whores” in your culture), the murder of film directors in Holland, and the rioting and looting in Paris France.

This is what offends me, a soft-spoken person and academic, and many, many, many of my colleagues. I counsul you dissatisfied, agressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems to be very aware of this as you proceed with your infantile “protests.”

If you do not like the values of the West — see the 1st Ammendment — you are free to leave. I hope for God’s sake that most of you choose that option. Please return to your ancestral homelands and build them up yourselves instead of troubling Americans.

Cordially, I. S. Wichman, Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Dawud Walid, executive director of CAIR is scared.

“It’s scary when you think about the power that this gentleman has” as a professor.

Farhan Abdul Azeez, a senior, thinks the real underlying problem here is a lack of sensitivity.

“There’s a bigger problem here of racism and discrimination at Michigan State University. Faculty training and sensitivity training are very important to help prevent future incidents like this from occurring,” he said.

In other news, the first amendment permits freedom of speech but makes no accomodation for the beheading of infidels, homicide bomings or church burnings.

MORE: Dr. Rusty has more on this story, including a link to Daniel Pipes’ article on Sharia Law at Belmont.

Who would have thought that Belmont University of Nashville, Tennessee, would apply the Islamic law to its staff? But just that happened earlier this month.

Bill Hobbs, a Republican political advisor, blogger, and news writer for Belmont, which bills itself as “the largest Christian university in Tennessee,” was upset in February 2006 about the cowardice of the American media in not publishing the Danish cartoons. So he drew a primitive cartoon of his own and posted it on his personal site. It sat in obscurity until April 5, when …

Block Lucent Merger.

If you were upset about the Dubai ports deal, you should really be concerned about the recently announced Alcatel/Lucent merger.

Alcatel is a French company. Alcatel owns 9.5 % of Thales, Europe’s biggest defense electronics company. Alcatel is trying to expand its holdings of Thales. Lucent gets much of its business from the U.S. military structure, the only thing that’s kept Lucent afloat.

The French socialist government is one of the major players in trying to undermine and destroy the United States through the vehicle of the U.N. The French government is also one of the major players in the ‘being pushed under the rug’ oil for food program, a now disclosed program of massive corruption and payoffs to fuel the tyrannical regime of Saddam Hussein. This cozy relation with enemies of the U.S. has to be highly suspect.

For anyone to think that U.S. military secrets and communication protocol will be protected from getting into the hands of the enemies of the U.S. via the French is truly naïve.

Investment broker Charles Schwab is reporting via Reuters:

Lucent has a wide array of sensitive government contracts, including one for an advanced communications system for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Pentagon’s technology incubator, and the company also does work on laser communications, secure wireless systems and network security.

One complication could also be the fact that Caisse des Depots et Consignations, a French state-owned financial institution, holds about 4.12 percent of Alcatel and 4.22 percent in voting rights, according to a securities filing.

This is an inside spy job just waiting to happen. In fact, spying may be too strong a word. Secure information may be just a matter of observing what will be readily available to ‘connected’ executives. The French socialists despise this country. They are in bed with the corrupt establishment of the U.N. and their cronies. They are also curiously close to the Democrat Party in the U.S. vis-à-vis John Kerry and his comrades. (Remember it was in Paris that Kerry met with the communist leader of North Vietnam, then returned to undermine the U.S. war effort.)

And to add comfort and security to the deal…

Lucent Technologies Inc. , which has agreed to be acquired by France’s Alcatel , on Monday tapped three former Clinton administration national security officials to oversee a new subsidiary that will handle its sensitive U.S. government contracts.

It is interesting that only Clinton people are being tapped for this job. You can’t trust the Clinton people with national security. Remember they are the ones who gave rocket technology to the Chinese in exchange for campaign money. The Clinton folks are as corrupt as the French and in bed with this anti-U.S. element.

And to show you how informed Congress is:

Loren Thompson, Lexington Institute defense analyst with close ties to the Pentagon, predicted mounting questions about the merger, noting that most U.S. lawmakers were unaware until last week about the extent of Lucent’s classified work.

The military is concerned:

He said military officials also had concerns as did Democrats, who have released a security agenda echoing Hunter’s effort to prevent outsourcing of critical infrastructure.
“A senior military officer told me just this morning how upset he was about the deal,” said Thompson.

To put it simply, the French cannot be trusted, especially with American military secrets.
They opposed the Iraq war because they were on the take. Saddam Hussein was paying them off. They were in his pocket and giving him needed information and cover. As of this writing we, the public, do not know how much of this French, U.N. game was to allow Saddam Hussein to move his weapons of mass destruction out of Iraq (most likely to Syria or Lebanon).

Chief executive of Lucent, Patricia Russo demonstrates why Lucent is doing so poorly:

Russo is slated to become CEO of the combined company when the merger closes. Russo said the agreement carried a $500 million fee “for both sides” in the event the merger falls apart.

Kind of like blackmailing stockholders and government officials.

And it’s a lousy deal for Lucent stockholders:

Under the terms of the deal, Lucent shareholders will receive 0.1952 of an ADS (American Depositary Share) of Alcatel for every common share of Lucent that they currently hold.

The deal values Lucent at about $3.01 per share, or slightly below its closing stock price of $3.05 on the New York Stock Exchange Friday.

Some analysts also expressed caution:

“Lucent has been struggling for years to improve its profitability with little success,” Nomura said in a note on Monday. “We see significant risk of a merger that ends up destroying value.”

This is a bad deal all around for both Lucent shareholders and U.S. security.

It looks like Russo is more concerned with getting herself a cushy socialist French job than running a decent company and building value for customers and shareholders.

Block this Lucent deal. Here’s what you can do…

If you own shares of Lucent, vote “no” on the proposal.

If you own shares of a mutual fund that owns shares of Lucent, contact the fund manager(s) and tell them to vote “no.” If your mutual fund refuses then sell your shares and move your money to another fund that doesn’t hold Lucent or who will vote “no.” There are lots of good mutual funds. You don’t have to keep your money in a fund that doesn’t care about national defense.

Also contact your Congressman/woman and tell them to block this deal. Write President Bush as well.

This deal makes the Dubai ports deal look like a ‘happy meal’.

Media, Democrats Ignore Jill Carroll Torture, Forced Propaganda.

After running a barrage of headlines touting the anti-American, pro-terrorist forced words of Jill Carroll, the MSM goes silent when the truth is revealed.

The case of Jill Carroll is yet another example of the anti-American, hate Bush, terrorist loving position of the U.S. media. When Ms. Carroll was saying what the media wanted to hear it was like gold; it fit well their template for “news.”

But now that we learn that Jill Carroll was forced to say these things at the points of three machine guns and on the threat of death, the media headlines suddenly change the subject. Jill Carroll has merely “arrived in Boston.” How pathetic.

From Jill Carroll’s statement after safely in American hands…

During my last night in captivity, my captors forced me to participate in a propaganda video. They told me they would let me go if I cooperated. I was living in a threatening environment, under their control, and wanted to go home alive. I agreed.

Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views. They are not.

I also gave a TV interview to the Iraqi Islamic Party shortly after my release. The party had promised me the interview would never be aired on television, and broke their word. At any rate, fearing retribution from my captors, I did not speak freely. Out of fear I said I wasn’t threatened. In fact, I was threatened many times.

Also, at least two false statements about me have been widely aired: That I refused to travel and cooperate with the US military and that I refused to discuss my captivity with US officials. Again, neither is true.

Clearly we can see that, when it comes to the liberal media, no torture is too bad when it is committed by their beloved terrorists. And murder? I guess it’s just all part of the struggle. (Remember Jill Carroll’s translator was murdered. She could only presume she was next.)

There’s no outrage. No calls for dearly loved investigations are heard; just the ho-hum of arriving home. There are no calls for crackdowns on nations that support such barbarism. It seems there is only disappointment. How could Carroll betray “our liberal cause” with the truth?

Let’s see what the socialist U.S. Democrat Party has to say about this torture.

Violence Pays. U.S. Bookstores Censor ‘Free Inquiry’ Magazine.

Looks like violence pays off. Borders and Waldenbooks won’t carry the upcoming issue of Free Inquiry because it carries the famous Muhammed cartoons. Why?

“For us, the safety and security of our customers and employees is a top priority, and we believe that carrying this issue could challenge that priority,” Borders Group Inc. spokeswoman Beth Bingham said Wednesday.

This is unbelievable. Does this mean that anytime someone doesn’t like what is published or produced they should start burning buildings and killing people? What a message! Maybe the Christians should start blowing up movie theatres and Hollywood studios. Is this insanity or what? Is this how we resolve things now in “civilized” societies?

Reports are coming in that Abdul Rahman, the former Muslim who embraced Jesus Christ, is being held in a safe location pending the outcome of his request for asylum.

L’Agence France-Presse (via Truth and Terrorism) is reporting that Rahman may be in a U.N. compound for his protection. Apparently the U.N. human rights commission is following this along with the Afghan human rights commission. It is good to see both these agencies weighing in on the side of sanity.

Afghan Christian Case Dismissed, Not Resolved.

As reports come in about the dismissal of the case against Abdul Rahman, the Afghan man who left Islam to embrace salvation in Jesus Christ, the case has hardly been resolved. The charges have been dropped under the auspices of “lack of evidence.” But the legal premise surrounding the case remains; that is anyone who chooses to abandon the fanaticism of Islam for Christianity is subject to death.

As Rep. Tom Lantos points out this kind of governmental tyranny is unacceptable.

“President Karzai has a tremendous opportunity at the moment because he’s now naming new members to the supreme court, and it’s absolutely critical that every single member he names be a civilized, moderate individual who understands that having death sentences passed on people who convert to Christianity is not acceptable in the 21st century, particularly not by a country which has been liberated by soldiers of the United States and other NATO countries, most of whom are Christian.”

It’s good to finally see at least one member of Congress speaking out about this. Let’s see if it will continue or if this is just some sort of political opportunism. (Sorry to be so skeptical, but that’s what the current political grandstanding is creating.) Anyway our hats off to Rep. Lantos for speaking directly and forcefully.

And thanks too, to President Karzai for his part in the release of Abdul Rahman. May you move to protect him from harm by those who still live in the mindset of murder and tyranny.

Abdul Rahman Case Dismissed in Afghanistan.

Citing a lack of evidence, the Afganistan court dismissed the case of Abdul Rahman, the former Muslim who became a believer in Jesus Christ.

But from early reports the case may not be over. WorldNetDaily notes

One official told the Associated Press the case had been returned to the prosecutors for more investigation, but Rahman would be released in the meantime.

“The court dismissed today the case against Abdul Rahman for a lack of information and a lot of legal gaps in the case,” the official told AP on condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile Rahman is still a prisoner and we will need to watch and see if this is just a sly effort to get his case out of the news.

Where’s Kofi? Ban Sharia Law!

Clearly one cause of the barbarity enveloping the world is Muslim Sharia law. In what appears to be a “Where’s Waldo?” move, Kofi Annan is AWOL when it comes to human rights violations against Christians in Muslim countries.

The case of Abdul Rahman is just one glaring example.

Of course we can offer lots of excuses for Kofi. After all he heads one of the most corrupt organizations in the world. He is apparently not interested in ending this corruption. Kofi, no doubt, loves the money passing through the hallowed halls by the East River. Kofi does speak out about human rights… that is when Jews are the perpetrators.

Kofi, here’s a suggestion for you. Any government that has Sharia law as its basis should be expelled from the U.N. No back door deals. No funneling cash to the violaters. No sham “oil for food” programs. Just a hard stand for human rights.

What do you say Kofi? What’s your take on Sharia law? Good or evil? Does it promote freedom and human rights or does it crush the souls of people? No waffling Kofi. No bob and weave. No shifting the subject.

Are you willing to abandon your love affair with totalitarianism? Do you believe in equal opportunity and freedom of conscience? Do you subscribe to the idea of personal choice when it comes to religious belief? Are you willing to give us more than lip service?

Where’s Kofi?

Abdul Rahman Insane?? Is This Projection or What?

Looks like the Afghanistan government is heading for cover. They’re trying to declare Abdul Rahman insane so he doesn’t have to stand trial and the case gets dropped.

A Western diplomat in Kabul and a human rights advocate — both of whom spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter — said the government was desperately searching for a way to drop the case because of the reaction it has caused.

Michelle Malkin has a video of Abdul Rahman here. It’s worth a look.

But there is a big problem… folks who become believers in Jesus Christ are not insane. The insanity is with those whose religion sends their children as suicide bombers to kill and maim women and children. The insanity is those whose religion only keeps its adherents by force and fear and terror.

President Karzai, it is time to admit you are wrong. Killing people because they believe different from you is not only morally wrong it is also a violation of your own constitution. Sir, your judge is unqualified to hold his position. His thinking and action are archaic and barbaric. Hiding behind some face saving “insanity” rendering is ludicrous. You may think it will look good, but the reality is the world will see right through it.

And by taking such a course you will have demonstrated to the world who is really insane.

Stop the madness, the insanity if you will, that has become Islam. It is time to lead your country into the civilized world. Stand tall sir. The world is behind you. Free Abdul Rahman.
