I’m suspicious. By now most are familiar with the efforts of the NY Times to aid and abet the enemy.
In yet another disclosure of secret anti-terror activity on the part of the United States and cooperating allies, the NY Times seems to be, once again, working to defeat the U.S. in the war on terror.
But the curious thing is their interest in the movement of money to the terrorists. I wonder why this might be.
Could it be that folks associated with the NY Times are involved in sending money to the terrorists?
Could this be an effort to warn American leftists to be careful in how they send money to support the enemy?
Could this be an effort to tell those very prominent anti-Americans among us to cool it sending money to the terrorists; the trail to your door may be getting hot?
There is something suspicious going on here; more than meets the eye.

That’s the hilarious headline on Yahoo where an ABC retread runs the pro-terrorist news operation.
I wonder who else is mourning Zarqawi’s death? The Democrat Party maybe?
From the Yahoo headline it looks like the American media is mourning his death too.
I guess we took out one of the liberal’s generals.
And they wonder why we think they’re anti-American and pro-terrorist.
Hilarious.

If you were upset about the Dubai ports deal, you should really be concerned about the recently announced Alcatel/Lucent merger.
Alcatel is a French company. Alcatel owns 9.5 % of Thales, Europe’s biggest defense electronics company. Alcatel is trying to expand its holdings of Thales. Lucent gets much of its business from the U.S. military structure, the only thing that’s kept Lucent afloat.
The French socialist government is one of the major players in trying to undermine and destroy the United States through the vehicle of the U.N. The French government is also one of the major players in the ‘being pushed under the rug’ oil for food program, a now disclosed program of massive corruption and payoffs to fuel the tyrannical regime of Saddam Hussein. This cozy relation with enemies of the U.S. has to be highly suspect.
For anyone to think that U.S. military secrets and communication protocol will be protected from getting into the hands of the enemies of the U.S. via the French is truly naïve.
Investment broker Charles Schwab is reporting via Reuters:
Lucent has a wide array of sensitive government contracts, including one for an advanced communications system for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Pentagon’s technology incubator, and the company also does work on laser communications, secure wireless systems and network security.
One complication could also be the fact that Caisse des Depots et Consignations, a French state-owned financial institution, holds about 4.12 percent of Alcatel and 4.22 percent in voting rights, according to a securities filing.
This is an inside spy job just waiting to happen. In fact, spying may be too strong a word. Secure information may be just a matter of observing what will be readily available to ‘connected’ executives. The French socialists despise this country. They are in bed with the corrupt establishment of the U.N. and their cronies. They are also curiously close to the Democrat Party in the U.S. vis-à-vis John Kerry and his comrades. (Remember it was in Paris that Kerry met with the communist leader of North Vietnam, then returned to undermine the U.S. war effort.)
And to add comfort and security to the deal…
Lucent Technologies Inc. , which has agreed to be acquired by France’s Alcatel , on Monday tapped three former Clinton administration national security officials to oversee a new subsidiary that will handle its sensitive U.S. government contracts.
It is interesting that only Clinton people are being tapped for this job. You can’t trust the Clinton people with national security. Remember they are the ones who gave rocket technology to the Chinese in exchange for campaign money. The Clinton folks are as corrupt as the French and in bed with this anti-U.S. element.
And to show you how informed Congress is:
Loren Thompson, Lexington Institute defense analyst with close ties to the Pentagon, predicted mounting questions about the merger, noting that most U.S. lawmakers were unaware until last week about the extent of Lucent’s classified work.
The military is concerned:
He said military officials also had concerns as did Democrats, who have released a security agenda echoing Hunter’s effort to prevent outsourcing of critical infrastructure.
“A senior military officer told me just this morning how upset he was about the deal,” said Thompson.
To put it simply, the French cannot be trusted, especially with American military secrets.
They opposed the Iraq war because they were on the take. Saddam Hussein was paying them off. They were in his pocket and giving him needed information and cover. As of this writing we, the public, do not know how much of this French, U.N. game was to allow Saddam Hussein to move his weapons of mass destruction out of Iraq (most likely to Syria or Lebanon).
Chief executive of Lucent, Patricia Russo demonstrates why Lucent is doing so poorly:
Russo is slated to become CEO of the combined company when the merger closes. Russo said the agreement carried a $500 million fee “for both sides” in the event the merger falls apart.
Kind of like blackmailing stockholders and government officials.
And it’s a lousy deal for Lucent stockholders:
Under the terms of the deal, Lucent shareholders will receive 0.1952 of an ADS (American Depositary Share) of Alcatel for every common share of Lucent that they currently hold.
The deal values Lucent at about $3.01 per share, or slightly below its closing stock price of $3.05 on the New York Stock Exchange Friday.
Some analysts also expressed caution:
“Lucent has been struggling for years to improve its profitability with little success,” Nomura said in a note on Monday. “We see significant risk of a merger that ends up destroying value.”
This is a bad deal all around for both Lucent shareholders and U.S. security.
It looks like Russo is more concerned with getting herself a cushy socialist French job than running a decent company and building value for customers and shareholders.
Block this Lucent deal. Here’s what you can do…
If you own shares of Lucent, vote “no” on the proposal.
If you own shares of a mutual fund that owns shares of Lucent, contact the fund manager(s) and tell them to vote “no.” If your mutual fund refuses then sell your shares and move your money to another fund that doesn’t hold Lucent or who will vote “no.” There are lots of good mutual funds. You don’t have to keep your money in a fund that doesn’t care about national defense.
Also contact your Congressman/woman and tell them to block this deal. Write President Bush as well.
This deal makes the Dubai ports deal look like a ‘happy meal’.

After running a barrage of headlines touting the anti-American, pro-terrorist forced words of Jill Carroll, the MSM goes silent when the truth is revealed.
The case of Jill Carroll is yet another example of the anti-American, hate Bush, terrorist loving position of the U.S. media. When Ms. Carroll was saying what the media wanted to hear it was like gold; it fit well their template for “news.”
But now that we learn that Jill Carroll was forced to say these things at the points of three machine guns and on the threat of death, the media headlines suddenly change the subject. Jill Carroll has merely “arrived in Boston.” How pathetic.
From Jill Carroll’s statement after safely in American hands…
During my last night in captivity, my captors forced me to participate in a propaganda video. They told me they would let me go if I cooperated. I was living in a threatening environment, under their control, and wanted to go home alive. I agreed.
Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views. They are not.
I also gave a TV interview to the Iraqi Islamic Party shortly after my release. The party had promised me the interview would never be aired on television, and broke their word. At any rate, fearing retribution from my captors, I did not speak freely. Out of fear I said I wasn’t threatened. In fact, I was threatened many times.
Also, at least two false statements about me have been widely aired: That I refused to travel and cooperate with the US military and that I refused to discuss my captivity with US officials. Again, neither is true.
Clearly we can see that, when it comes to the liberal media, no torture is too bad when it is committed by their beloved terrorists. And murder? I guess it’s just all part of the struggle. (Remember Jill Carroll’s translator was murdered. She could only presume she was next.)
There’s no outrage. No calls for dearly loved investigations are heard; just the ho-hum of arriving home. There are no calls for crackdowns on nations that support such barbarism. It seems there is only disappointment. How could Carroll betray “our liberal cause” with the truth?
Let’s see what the socialist U.S. Democrat Party has to say about this torture.

Looks like violence pays off. Borders and Waldenbooks won’t carry the upcoming issue of Free Inquiry because it carries the famous Muhammed cartoons. Why?
“For us, the safety and security of our customers and employees is a top priority, and we believe that carrying this issue could challenge that priority,” Borders Group Inc. spokeswoman Beth Bingham said Wednesday.
This is unbelievable. Does this mean that anytime someone doesn’t like what is published or produced they should start burning buildings and killing people? What a message! Maybe the Christians should start blowing up movie theatres and Hollywood studios. Is this insanity or what? Is this how we resolve things now in “civilized” societies?
Maybe we could send these two companies a civilized message… buy your books somewhere else.

Afghan Christian, Abdul Rahman is now safely in Italy and the American Family Association is pressing President Bush to grant Rahman asylum in the U.S. as well.

Reports are coming in that Abdul Rahman, the former Muslim who embraced Jesus Christ, is being held in a safe location pending the outcome of his request for asylum.
L’Agence France-Presse (via Truth and Terrorism) is reporting that Rahman may be in a U.N. compound for his protection. Apparently the U.N. human rights commission is following this along with the Afghan human rights commission. It is good to see both these agencies weighing in on the side of sanity.
Keep praying for his protection and his perseverance. Pray also for other Christians in Afghanistan who apparently have been arrested for leaving Islam.

With the conviction of Democrat Senator Jim McDermott for illegally taping and distributing a conversation between Newt Gingrich and John Boehner the question naturally arises, “Will McDermott be removed from the Senate?”
Of course we know the answer is ‘no’ because Democrats rarely get held to account for their illegal behavior. Just ask Mr. Steele, the Republican from Maryland.
McDermott should go. To let him remain in the Senate sends a clear message that integrity and law abiding qualities don’t really matter in this country anymore, particularly when it comes to politicians. Laws seem irrelevant. Politicians do whatever they want. So they have to pay a fine. Big deal. While a large settlement ($700,000) it is probably peanuts to this man. I wonder how many will “contribute” to his “defense fund?”
It really is getting disgusting in this country. Laws are meaningless. Just ask all the illegal… yes illegal… immigrants. Don’t think they won’t be voting. And they will be voting Democrat. You can make book on that one.

As reports come in about the dismissal of the case against Abdul Rahman, the Afghan man who left Islam to embrace salvation in Jesus Christ, the case has hardly been resolved. The charges have been dropped under the auspices of “lack of evidence.” But the legal premise surrounding the case remains; that is anyone who chooses to abandon the fanaticism of Islam for Christianity is subject to death.
As Rep. Tom Lantos points out this kind of governmental tyranny is unacceptable.
“President Karzai has a tremendous opportunity at the moment because he’s now naming new members to the supreme court, and it’s absolutely critical that every single member he names be a civilized, moderate individual who understands that having death sentences passed on people who convert to Christianity is not acceptable in the 21st century, particularly not by a country which has been liberated by soldiers of the United States and other NATO countries, most of whom are Christian.”
It’s good to finally see at least one member of Congress speaking out about this. Let’s see if it will continue or if this is just some sort of political opportunism. (Sorry to be so skeptical, but that’s what the current political grandstanding is creating.) Anyway our hats off to Rep. Lantos for speaking directly and forcefully.
And thanks too, to President Karzai for his part in the release of Abdul Rahman. May you move to protect him from harm by those who still live in the mindset of murder and tyranny.

Citing a lack of evidence, the Afganistan court dismissed the case of Abdul Rahman, the former Muslim who became a believer in Jesus Christ.
But from early reports the case may not be over. WorldNetDaily notes…
One official told the Associated Press the case had been returned to the prosecutors for more investigation, but Rahman would be released in the meantime.
“The court dismissed today the case against Abdul Rahman for a lack of information and a lot of legal gaps in the case,” the official told AP on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile Rahman is still a prisoner and we will need to watch and see if this is just a sly effort to get his case out of the news.

Taking a page from liberal Democrats, Dan Brown gets amnesia on the stand.
He had almost no recollection of matters that related to timing. He would struggle to recall a year, was rarely able to recall a month. His general attitude in cross-examination was uncooperative,” Rayner James said, referring to Brown’s testimony during three days on the stand last week.
CBS reports this interesting piece of “evidence”…
A crucial piece of evidence in the case, points out CBS News Correspondent Richard Roth, is the underlined and highlighted copy of “Holy Blood, Holy Grail” that Brown insists he didn’t even read until after he’d plotted his own book.
Yeah, right.
And then Brown offers the ultimate defense… his wife did it.
In a written statement handed to the court Monday, Rayner James said Brown had copied from “The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail,” but acknowledged he may have done so “unwittingly because of the research materials supplied by Blythe Brown.”
The case has been sent to the judge who will supposedly decide in a couple of weeks.
Will the movie be delayed? Like one friend noted, “Not a chance.” “It all depends on the payoff price,” he said.
I guess we’ll know soon.
Maria Langer has some thoughts here.

Clearly one cause of the barbarity enveloping the world is Muslim Sharia law. In what appears to be a “Where’s Waldo?” move, Kofi Annan is AWOL when it comes to human rights violations against Christians in Muslim countries.
The case of Abdul Rahman is just one glaring example.
Of course we can offer lots of excuses for Kofi. After all he heads one of the most corrupt organizations in the world. He is apparently not interested in ending this corruption. Kofi, no doubt, loves the money passing through the hallowed halls by the East River. Kofi does speak out about human rights… that is when Jews are the perpetrators.
Kofi, here’s a suggestion for you. Any government that has Sharia law as its basis should be expelled from the U.N. No back door deals. No funneling cash to the violaters. No sham “oil for food” programs. Just a hard stand for human rights.
What do you say Kofi? What’s your take on Sharia law? Good or evil? Does it promote freedom and human rights or does it crush the souls of people? No waffling Kofi. No bob and weave. No shifting the subject.
Are you willing to abandon your love affair with totalitarianism? Do you believe in equal opportunity and freedom of conscience? Do you subscribe to the idea of personal choice when it comes to religious belief? Are you willing to give us more than lip service?
Where’s Kofi?

You gotta laugh. Hillary Clinton invoking the Bible as reason to oppose illegal immigration. Hillary even claimed Jesus was an illegal immigrant. Looks like Hillary has been skipping Sunday School (For the uninitiated, that’s where churches are supposed to be teaching the Bible.)
The facts are that Jesus went to extraordinary measures to be a legal immigrant.
Hillary, check out the book of Philippians.
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
What was the point of His death on a cross? It was to reconcile a rebellious, sinful creation to God. But in order for this sacrifice to reconcile you, you have to accept it and believe it; put your faith in Jesus to make your restoration complete.
So, Hillary, I know you are busy, but why don’t you sacrifice a little time to “study up” as we common folks might say. As Jesus said, “What good does it do you to gain the whole world and lose your very soul?”
Addition: You know, in thinking about it, Hillary has probably done a good thing. She has given the green light to invoking the Bible as a basis for opposing federal legislation or, in essence the converse, enacting legislation. Sounds like the founding fathers to me. Ah… I can see it now. Hillary, our founding mother.

Looks like the Afghanistan government is heading for cover. They’re trying to declare Abdul Rahman insane so he doesn’t have to stand trial and the case gets dropped.
A Western diplomat in Kabul and a human rights advocate — both of whom spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter — said the government was desperately searching for a way to drop the case because of the reaction it has caused.
Michelle Malkin has a video of Abdul Rahman here. It’s worth a look.
But there is a big problem… folks who become believers in Jesus Christ are not insane. The insanity is with those whose religion sends their children as suicide bombers to kill and maim women and children. The insanity is those whose religion only keeps its adherents by force and fear and terror.
President Karzai, it is time to admit you are wrong. Killing people because they believe different from you is not only morally wrong it is also a violation of your own constitution. Sir, your judge is unqualified to hold his position. His thinking and action are archaic and barbaric. Hiding behind some face saving “insanity” rendering is ludicrous. You may think it will look good, but the reality is the world will see right through it.
And by taking such a course you will have demonstrated to the world who is really insane.
Stop the madness, the insanity if you will, that has become Islam. It is time to lead your country into the civilized world. Stand tall sir. The world is behind you. Free Abdul Rahman.

Abdul Rahman, the Afghan man who left the madness of Islam to embrace true peace in the name of Jesus Christ still stands condemned by a “judge” in Afghanistan.
Of course the “judge” in this case has already decided the outcome since he is still trapped in the archaic thinking of the 7th century Taliban. The evidence? Abdul Rahman possesses a Bible. It would be laughable if this brave man’s life wasn’t on the line.
Ah, but the “judge” in the case, with a deeply passionate understanding of tolerance, has this to say (via Junkyard Blog) …
“We will ask him if he has changed his mind about being a Christian,” Mawlazezadah says. “If he has, we will forgive him, because Islam is a religion of tolerance.”
Sorry “judge” but, as Junkyard Blog points out, that is totalitarianism.
Good chance they are torturing Mr. Rahman now to get him to recant.
Clearly the Muslims don’t believe what they claim to believe. Clearly they have no faith in the god they worship. If what they present is true then people would be flocking to Islam by choice. And the adherents would never want to leave. But that is not the case with Muslims. This is a religion that is propagated by force. It is a religious tyranny that only survives through fear, terror, and intimidation. That’s the point of this trial of Mr. Rahman. It is to make clear to everyone else not to dare consider leaving Islam.
Let me offer a challenge to the Muslim leadership around the world. Open up the marketplace of ideas. Let your people go. Let your captives choose without fear of death or torture. And we will see how appealing Islam is to the people. We will see its ‘truth.’
Everyone but the so-called mainstream media (with the exception of ABC) is picking up the story of Abdul Rahman.
Michelle Malkin has great coverage. International Christian Concern is appealing to the Afghan President.
And the campaign is underway to free Abdul Rahman. You can help here, here, and here.
Why not take a moment right now to pray for Abdul Rahman. Pray too for his captors that they may be graced with the light of truth. Jesus said, “You shall know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.” May God’s grace and His boldness give Mr. Rahman a testimony to his captors.

We’re sending our boys to defend this? Outrageous. Where is the freedom in Afghanistan?
Here’s a man who sees the evil of Islam and decides to reject it and embrace salvation in Jesus Christ. But the Afghan government will have none of it. They are putting the man on trial for rejecting Islam.
This kind of stuff serves to underscore the fraud of Islam. If Islam were true then there would be no threat to someone exploring the Bible, for instance, or other avenues in a search for true meaning. Islam would hold up under scrutiny.
But Islam doesn’t hold up. Islam only survives by force and intimidation. Violence and terror is the heritage of Islam.
Here is a man, turned in by his family to the authorities for becoming a Christian. What are the odds this family would be rejoicing if it sent its son to be a suicide bomber, killing dozens of young children? From this writer’s observation of Islam, pretty good odds. This Afghani man has made the right choice. He has moved from a lie to the truth.
If you find this outrageous, contact the White House, your congressman, and the Afghanistan embassy.

Claiming that high level intelligence sources have revealed that Bin Laden has died in Iran, PA representative Curt Weldon is claiming the Al Quaida chieftain is resting comfortably with his 72 virgins. I would think ol’ Mohammed would be running out of virgins pretty soon.
From NewsMax:
“Weldon is making explosive new allegations. He says a high-level source has told him that terrorist leader Osama bin Laden has died in Iran, where he has been in hiding.”
Weldon is the one who exposed the Able Danger situation which is still being ignored by the media.
Weldon is also indicating that Bin Laden has been in and out of Iran for a few years and that he met recently with Iraqi terrorist al-Zarqawi in Tehran. As the recently released documents now indicate there was indeed a connection between Saddam Hussein and Al Quaida, so now there appears to also be a connection between Iran and Al Quaida. Of course that isn’t any surprise.
Don’t expect the leftist media to believe any connection however. In their eyes, and I dare say the eyes of the Democrat Party, America is the bad guys; the real terrorist.
Given these revelations it seems appropriate to ask the Democrats what their position on Iran is and what should be done about the situation. Do they believe Iran is developing nukes? Do they believe Iran is involved in terrorism? What is their strategy? How will the Democrats protect America?
As they’ve admitted on national television, their strategy is to get rid of Bush. It is to hate Bush. They have no other strategy. So don’t count on the Democrats to protect us. Remember they ran the Viet Nam war fiasco.

That’s the question Peter Paul is asking. Paul is the man who made over $1 million dollars in illegal contributions to Hillary Clinton’s senate campaign which were buried in several allegedly fraudulent FEC reports.
In an article written for WorldNetDaily, Paul outlines the process and the refusal by Hillary Clinton to answer questions surrounding these contributions. She apparently insulates herself by sending out surrogates to lie for her. When they get caught in the lie, then those surrogates are removed and new ones take their place. But Hillary? She seems to be living a life of special privilege…
But being Hillary Clinton means never having to personally go on the record for any of the wrongdoing or deceptions she is regularly caught in. She occupies that rarefied space, even above the president of the United States, where all accountability to the people she serves, and the Constitution she has sworn to defend, can be filtered through official spokesmen and legal mouthpieces. No one in the media has ever challenged her five-year refusal to personally respond to the election scandal she can’t shake.
Peter Paul continues…
Unlike any other public figure before her, she is never required to answer to journalists or justice officials. She can refuse to comment to the media on scandals that regularly swirl around her, and she can dissemble and deceive FBI investigators in sworn, as well as unsworn, statements with impunity. She has managed to elevate herself to a unique status of unaccountability, above the rule of law that governs all other Americans. House Impeachment Manager Dave Schippers made the chilling observation – in the documentary I am now producing about the fraud that elected Hillary to the Senate – that “Hillary may be indictable, but never convictable in an American courtroom.”
On another subject, but perhaps curiously related, Hillary’s husband, Bill Clinton, was scheduled to testify at the trial of the now deceased Slobadan Milosevic. Given the history of deaths surrounding those associated with the Clintons and the apparent above-the-law accountability of these people, is there some connection here?
Without accountability and a feeling of almost god-like status, those on a quest for absolute power begin to believe their own invincibility and ultimately do some very bizarre and evil deeds. Hopefully that’s not the case with the Clintons, but the dots keep appearing. Connecting them is a task for another day.
