Union Protestors Offer Kids Empty Gifts

Posted by Eric at 9:58 pm. Filed under: Randomly Interesting

Walmart has responded to the disgusting union tactics in Broward County.

This just goes to show that the union leadership will stop at nothing – even upsetting children with fake Christmas gifts and resorting to physical confrontation with our associates. We have tolerated numerous union demonstrations and disruptions in our stores, but we cannot tolerate attacks that become physical. We ask for the union leadership to publicly apologize to our associates, these children, their parents and the customers who were in our store and pledge that any future demonstrations will be peaceful and non-violent.

House OKs Violence Against Women

So says the AP headline associated with this story. “House OKs Violence Against Women Extension.”

Random Subjects

It always amazes me how many different subjects one could devote a blog to. While putting together my Trader Joe’s shopping list this evening, I happened across the “Candy Blog” which has a whole category dedicated to Trader Joe’s.

Investigate the Leaks

Posted by Eric at 3:44 pm. Filed under: Politics, War / Terrorism

Once again, we have a leak of national security information. I’m waiting for the New York Times to call for an investigation into the leakers with the enthusiasm that they did with those who “outed” Plame.

Bush tells it like it is this morning.

the unauthorized disclosure of this effort damages our national security and puts our citizens at risk. Revealing classified information is illegal, alerts our enemies, and endangers our country.

Leaders in Congress have been briefed more than a dozen times on this authorization and the activities conducted under it.

Joyner agrees. Start investigating now.

Hinderaker: “The President takes lawful measures to protect Americans against terrorist attack, with the knowledge and consent of Congress and the courts. Some scandal!”

Captain Ed translates a WaPo story about the NYT article.

Translated, it means this: the New York Times ran it by their own legal staff to determine whether the program, as reported by Risen and Lichtblau, actually constituted an illegal activity by the government. The answer, obviously, was no. The NSA has the authority to review international communications without warrants — in fact, that’s supposed to be part of its raison d’etre — and the definition of “international” as anything crossing an international border, including that of the US, might have policy implications but does not break the law. The revelation would not have done anything other than possibly weaken our counterterrorism efforts.

Bluto: “The Gray Lady has been showing her age and growing senility for years. Now she has taken up prostitution.”

Hugh Hewitt: “Any responsible newspaper would reprint them in their entirety tomorrow, with a prominent, front page placement.”

I’m not holding my breath.

Michelle Malkin has lots more.

Support The Troops Website

Posted by Taste of Liberty at 9:53 am. Filed under: General

Here’s a new website, America Supports You, where you can read updates from the troops and join in ways to support them.

With a major political party in the U.S. actively working for their defeat the time has come to join in the battle for victory. So check it out and do what you can.

One great suggestion is to join with others and fix or repair home problems of families who have soldiers in war zones. Or bake some cookies and bring them a special gift.

Lots we can do. Plus write your Democrat congressperson and tell them to stop supporting the terrorists.

Update: I erred in calling this site new. It was started over a year ago and was referred to in a speech last year by President Bush. I had been reading comments by Don Rumsfeld and had the impression it was a new site. My apologies. But new or otherwise it is still a great place to go and show support for our troops.
