As has been noted before in other places (via Annie), Planned Parenthood has been accused of covering up felony crimes, particularly rape.
Here is another example, dug up by the American Life League, and posted by Chris Short over at Jawa and Conservative Thinking. This article has been removed from PP’s website, but Wayback, of course, has the cached copy.
It Keeps Us Safe
I was raped at 11, by my 17 year old boyfriend. I chose not to tell my parents because I didn’t think their involvement would help, that was the right choice for me. Planned Parethood helped me deal with the aftermath of the rape allowing me to deal and cope as best as I could in my own way. I was 14 when I decided to start having sex, the day I made that choice I made an appointment to get birth control pills. I’m 17 now, I’ve been with my current boyfriend for about two years. During that time i’ve been HIV and STD tested four times. Right now I’m sitting in the waiting room while my boyfriend gets the results for his HIV test. We love each other so we’re responsible and Planned Parenthood helps us to do that.

Even if this story were not true, Planned Parenthood posted it on their website as an example of “shared stories.” Truly astounding. Or maybe not so astounding, but truly sickening.
GOP Bloggers adds:
As if it’s not bad enough that parents rights are being attacked by organizations like Planned Parenthood in regards to abortion and parental consent for minors, but now we learn they’re also protecting rapists by not reporting the crime to the authorities, and once again denying parents their rights, as parents, to know when their minor child has been the victim of a sex crime.
Dawn Eden has more.
“It Keeps Us Safe”? Safe from what? Safe from parents finding out their little girls were raped? It certainly doesn’t keep children safe from rapists.
To recap: An 11-year-old girl walked into Planned Parenthood, saying she had been raped. Not just statutory rape, either; forcible rape.
Planned Parenthood assured the girl that it would not contact her parents, and it was true to its word. Likewise, it must not have contacted the authorities either, otherwise the parents would certainly have been notified.
Thanks to Planned Parenthood, the rapist remained at large, still free to attack other little girls.
Regular Guy:
So, even in cases of forcible rape, Planned Parenthood can be relied upon to keep a rapist on the streets, and then boast about it on their website.
Not to mention providing prescription contraceptive drugs — without her parents’ knowledge — to a girl who can’t legally consent to sex.
Rob at Say Anything:
If I knew more about the situation I might agree with the girl that her parents shouldn’t have been told (at least not at first, what kind of parents let their eleven-year-old daughter date a guy who is seventeen?), but nobody even contacted law enforcement? Rape is a crime, and so is pedophilia. Thanks to Planned Parenthood the schmuck who took advantage of this little girl is out on the loose somewhere.
What’s worse, the group is bragging about this. As though it is something to be proud of.
What a bunch of monsters
Via ProLifeBlogs, here is what the FRC has to say:
According to California state law Planned Parenthood may be criminally negligible for not reporting the crime and there is a chance the statute of limitations still applies for the rapist. In the guise of protecting an 11-year-old child, Planned Parenthood has instead further made her a victim, while protecting her rapist. According to California state statistics almost 70% of teen births are children of adult men, and teenage girls are twice as likely to have sexually transmitted diseases as teenage boys. Who is watching out for the children? This is standard operating procedure for Planned Parenthood and in this case California’s attorney general needs to investigate and, if necessary, prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
HyScience:
Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League’s STOPP International, says, “People may be skeptical when pro-life groups accuse Planned Parenthood of violating the law and protecting rapists, however, when Planned Parenthood itself seems to brag on one of its official web sites, about doing just that - it is time law enforcement agencies in every state address the situation.”
