Did Tim Russert Lie to the Grand Jury?

Posted by Taste of Liberty at 9:42 am. Filed under: General

This is a question that will no doubt surface in the trial of Scooter Libby. It seems that Valerie Plame’s identity as a CIA employee was well known by the media according to statements made by senior NBC correspondent Andrea Mitchell.

It turns out that Tim Russert was her boss. Kind of odd that everyone in the Washington press corps knows about Plame’s identity but Tim Russert.

Did Russert lie to the grand jury? And if he did what was his motive for doing so? Is this yet another example of the media organizing with the Democrats to try and get Bush? Would Russert be so stupid to think he could pull this off? If Russert lied what or who pressured him to do so? What might those mysterious 700 FBI files from the Clinton administration have revealed about Russert?

Interesting speculation. This whole “Plamegate” case is developing into a better mystery than any good writer could have dreamed up.

Fitzgerald, for whatever reason, agreed to limit the scope of his questioning of Judith Miller and Tim Russert. Libby’s defense team is under no such limitation. Let’s hope the Libby defense team pulls out all the stops and indulges the truly historical moment they face. America would like to know what is really going on here.

Wilson, Plame, the Democrats, the media, and now with the French forged documents entering the picture related to uranium and Niger, juxtaposed to the UN oil for food scandal, tucked into Dan Rather’s apparent cozy relationship with Saddam Hussein and this stuff is all getting very interesting and compulsively intriguing.

More than intriguing however, is the potential this web has to move to the front of the historical stage.

Michael Moore Owns 2,000 Shares of Halliburton

Posted by Eric at 8:03 am. Filed under: General

Peter Schweizer’s new book, Do As I Say, Not As I Do, Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy, has the scoop.

[Michael Moore] owns tens of thousands of shares – including nearly 2,000 shares of Boeing, nearly 1,000 of Sonoco, more than 4,000 of Best Foods, more than 3,000 of Eli Lilly, more than 8,000 of Bank One and more than 2,000 of Halliburton, the company most vilified by Moore in “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

That’s about $120,000 worth of HAL.

Congrats to Stacy Harp!

Posted by Eric at 7:48 am. Filed under: General

Stacy Harp, who many of my fellow bloggers know through her Mind and Media service, has received a great write up by author Tim Bete, who wrote “In the Beginning There Were No Diapers,” which we reviewed here.

Several of the blog reviews of my book were picked up by other sites. For example, a review on the View from the Pew blog (the Christian views of a Southern Baptist seminarian) was also posted on BlogCritics.org. It was a geat review: “Fans of Dave Barry will definitely see similarities in comedic style and sense of humor.” This review was also picked up by nine other large sites, inlcuding PennLive.com and NJ.com.

In addition to the 29 reviews of my book, I now have relationships with many bloggers. I recently sent a book excerpt to them and asked if they wanted to post it on their blog. The response has been very positive. Christian Parenting Source has already posted the excerpt, “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (No Batteries Included),” on their site.

The bottom line: While most PR services aren’t cost effective for authors, Mind & Media can provide dozens of reviews at a reasonable price. If the topic of your book fits with the bloggers Mind & Media targets, I highly recommend their service

For more information about Mind & Media, contact Stacy Harp by e-mail or phone (714-244-6890).

Stacy has put a lot of time and effort into making this project go, and it seems like it’s paying off for her. Congrats Stacy, you’ve had quite a great first eight months since you started this venture in March of this year!!
