Waiting for Failure in Iraq

Posted by Eric at 4:01 pm. Filed under: General

Sgt. Hook is back, after an extended hiatus from blogging. Watching the news early this morning, he had this to say:

If I had to pick a headline that summed it all up it might read, SUNNIS VOTE ‘NO’ IN LARGE NUMBERS. It just seems to me that almost all of the MSM are impatiently waiting for the results of the election to determine success or failure so that they can stand in front of the burning wreckage of the next car bomb and report, “See, I told you the American experiment in Iraq would fail.” Hello McFly, regardless of whether the draft constitution is confirmed by the votes of the millions of Iraqi’s who went to the polls yesterday, the “experiment” was a resounding success. My God, in spite of the dangers to their lives, the people participated in the shaping of their country’s future. Sounds like democracy to me, but I’m no way near as educated as our esteemed press corps.
