This year they have revamped this classic favorite to add new accessories, including the Marbleworks Crank-it-Up and the Wild Ride sets! You can buy the start set and both of the accessory sets together in the Super Marbleworks Deluxe set and save $7.98!

Ray Nagin’s Buses Have Been Found!

Posted by Eric at 3:20 pm. Filed under: General

Paul at Wizbang has found Ray Nagin’s buses on Google Maps. Sixty of them. Unflooded. Less than five miles away.

Dr. Rusty says this goes beyond incompetence.

Algiers Bus Barn The Anchoress says Nagin should have resigned.

If you’re using Google Earth, fly to coordinates:

29 degrees, 57 minutes, 15.09 seconds North
90 degrees, 02 minutes, 51.42 seconds West
Eye altitude around 500 feet

The date on this Google satellite image is obviously different than the one Paul grabbed from Google Maps (older, certainly, because if you fly over to the SuperDome its top is intact), but it does seem to agree with Paul’s hypothesis that there may have been even more buses moved into the building (or possibly they were in use elsewhere).

Were they operational? If they were, it appears Paul may have quite the scoop.

As an aside, Paul was a New Orleans resident and lost much in the storm.

Think about it for a second from my chair… (I’m not whining but) I’m almost 40 years old…. Here is the sum total of all my worldly possessions: 4 pairs of shorts, 5 shirts, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 pairs of underwear, 1 pair of blue jeans, a box of family pictures, 2 flashlights, a piece of trench art my grandfather brought back from WWI and my father’s hammer. (Hey, it means a lot to me!) That’s it. Everything else is gone. And BTW, I’m unemployed.

UPDATE: Rusty has more analysis. Enough to make ones head spin this late in the evening. He and Paul went back and forth and came to roughly the same conclusion about Nagin.

UPDATE 2: Llama School makes the case that Nagin in fact was trying to use those buses. But Paul reacts, taking the Llama School writer to the mat.

Ronnie Earle, the Movie

Posted by Eric at 6:53 am. Filed under: General

Ronnie Earle, almost surreally, handed down the do-over indictment of Tom DeLay yesterday. It took him just hours after empaneling a new grand jury, to get an indictment that he was nota ble not get for months with the previous panel.

Krempasky has a unique take on Ronnie Earle.

If Ronnie Earle didn’t exist, we’d have to invent him. Seriously, could any politician hope for a more disastrously incompetent prosector to be “hot on the trail”? His misteps and flailing about would almost be comical, if the normally right-minded folks in Texas hadn’t given this boob a role in our justice system.

I just hope Ronnie rolls out six or seven more indictments. This is getting hysterical. Can’t wait for the movie.

Iowa Voice thinks DeLay should step down for the good of the party, even if not guilty.

Whether he’s guilty or not, he should put the interests of his constituents first, and allow them to put someone in there who can work for their interests, and not be spending his every waking moment mounting a defense. If he’s found innocent, he can run for his old seat again next election. Let the voters in his district decide if they want him back or not.

Ed Morissey points out Earle’s fixation with DeLay, and thinks he should be investigated.

The quick issuance of this additional indictment shows that Earle not only has focused on DeLay for strictly personal and political reasons — fixated might be a better word — but that he fully understands that his original indictment had no chance of being upheld. He betrayed the trust invested in him as an officer of the court and used those mechanisms to push his personal, political goals. Not only should the state of Texas start an investigation into Earle’s activities in abusing his office, but the state Bar should begin questioning his standing to remain an attorney at all.

Will Malven also thinks Earle is looking desparate.

Earle looks more and more desperate, resembling someone more concerned about looking the fool for bringing baseless charges than he is about seeking justice.

Generation Why thinks that Ronnie Earle’s day is coming.
