Caution… Media Misery Attempts to Make Hurricane Katrina Shape Your View of Life.

Posted by Taste of Liberty at 8:10 am. Filed under: General

Don’t let the media’s hysterical hurricane disaster reporting distort your view of what is happening in the rest of the nation.

It seems like a necessary word of caution is in order since the media loves to focus on the worst and the most miserable as though that is the norm everywhere. While the pain and losses are severe in the areas where hurricane Katrina hit, the majority of the nation is still functioning normally. The media folks seem to be making an effort to make you think that the country is falling apart and the nation as a whole is about to degenerate into New Orleans. The best thing you can do to help the region and the country at this point is continue to function and generate the economic activity and gracious charity that will sustain that region and the country as well. In other words keep the candles of hope burning across the land. And pray for God’s grace as well.

It would also be a good idea to turn off the television and spend more time with your neighbors. The media tends to isolate us from community. That is not healthy and can lead to something like a community brainwashing if you will.

If you’re getting disgusted with the way the media and the Democrats are trying to exploit this disaster by politicizing people’s tragic circumstances, cheer up; John Roberts starts soon and the people of this disaster will soon be forgotten by the media. After all it seems reasonable to conclude that the media is only interested in items that can be exploited for their liberal, hate Bush, hate America agenda. The Roberts hearing will be fresh excitement as the coyotes circle their prey.

As a side note, it’s kind of interesting that Cindy Sheehan packed up and went home when the cameras left to cover the hurricane? So much for a vigil. I guess her real motives and those of her handlers have been revealed.

Anyway, don’t let the media shape your view of the nation and the world. There’s lots of good stuff going on. Just the other day a person I know gave up part of their day to drive an invalid neighbor to the hospital. Another left for Houston to help load relief trucks.

So keep on keeping on. Be part of the solution and the greatness of America. Don’t let the media fool you.

Have a great Labor Day.
