Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll, Funeral Crasher
Check out this story about Lt. Gove Knoll attending the funeral of a fallen marine and inappropriately using this as a platform (uninvited) to speak out against the war.
Michelle Malkin has more on the original story here. It looks like Governor Rendell is apologizing and encouraging Knoll to do the same. Michelle says it’s not enough to hide behind the gov’s skirts.

We are good personal friends of Catherine Baker Knoll’s and we wish to state the truth as we know it. As Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania, and as a deeply concerned mother who is one of the most compassionate and caring human beings we have ever had the pleasure to call a real friend, Catherine always comes from the heart first not political expediency. She has been deeply affected by the loss of life of young men and woman from her home state as well as those throughout the country. Her only intention was to show her respect and spiritual feelings of love and hope to the Goodrich family. She tells her own personal beliefs when someone asks her, but does not grandstand and never would disrespect those who have sacrificed for the nation and state she loves and serves with 100% of her loving heart and caring mind. I spoke with Lt. Gov. Knoll recently and she seemed very shook up and saddened by this incident. She had no intention of “campaigning” at the funeral– she is a woman with a good heart and just wanted to help the family any way she could. I feel that it is truly pathetic that the far right, even while their party controls America, can still find something to complain about. It is especially sad that these right-wingers have to stoop so low as to pick on a compassionate lady with sincere intentions. The people at this end of the political spectrum truly make me sick to my stomach.
