Susan Torres Update
As of July 17th, here is the update on Susan Torres (who we blogged about a month ago here):
They are fairly certain it’s a girl. In a second-floor room at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, it is the 25th week, and counting.
Susan Torres, who was felled by a cancerous tumor in May, who is brain dead yet also pregnant, remains there hooked to a ventilator, machines and monitors, in the long shot hope that her body, now full of cancer, can sustain the fetus that continues to grow and kick inside of it.
And from the USA Today (7/18):
Susan Torres — a cancer sufferer who is brain dead, pregnant and being maintained on a respirator — is on course to deliver a premature baby girl probably in the next three to five weeks, her family says.

Susan Torres Gives Birth!!
Susan Torres has given birth to baby Susan. The new baby is 2 pounds and 13.5 inches long.

I am so glad to hear baby Susan was born healthy but at the same time, I feel so sad about her mom…Susan would have been so proud of her new daughter, her son, her husband and family and friends who supported them.
