Was it Karl Rove?

Posted by Eric at 12:15 pm. Filed under: General

Speculation is spreading like wildfire that Karl Rove was Matt Cooper’s source on Valerie Plame. I’ve not thought enough about this to have much an informed opinion of the ramifications of this if true, and there’s not much point in speculating until the facts are known, so I’ll just post the link. MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell:

I revealed in yesterday’s taping of the McLaughlin Group that Time magazine’s e-mails will reveal that Karl Rove was Matt Cooper’s source.

Blogburst: Rootforce, Anonymoses, Balloon Juice, Talk Left, and lots of others, but I’ve gotta run. Enjoy.

UPDATE: The Rove Factor.

UPDATE 2: More analysis rolling in. Most of it pretty “ho hum” about the whole Rove thing. Wizbang. CQ. Polipundit. Michelle Malkin. Mike’s Noise. Mark in Mexico (great roundup!).

Congress Reacts to Keto

Posted by Eric at 11:45 am. Filed under: General

Congress reacts to public outrage at Keto, surely one of the worst SCOTUS decisions ever.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, proposed legislation that would bar the federal government and local and state governments who receive federal funds from taking property for economic development use.

“The protection of homes, small businesses, and other property rights against government seizure and other unreasonable government interference is a fundamental principle and core commitment of our nation’s founders,” according to a letter written by Cornyn and Florida Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson. The letter was sent to colleagues asking for co-sponsors for the legislation.

Pulpit Pounder has some thoughts, as does Vilmar.

Spanish Men Required to do Housework

Posted by Eric at 11:10 am. Filed under: General

What a riot.

“Spanish law is changing so men have to do 50% of the housework,” Santi tells me, rather red-faced. “I am getting married this autumn so I am learning things I’ve never done before: ironing, cleaning floors and doing the washing up.
