David Rozelle’s Back in Action
I’ve not read this book, but I heard David Rozelle on Laura Ingraham’s radio show today (the first time I’ve ever heard her). He seems like quite a guy.
Rozelle is the first amputee to return to the same battlefield.
“Every now and again,” says Rozelle, “I would get the standard, ‘That is horrible. How do you feel about the war?’” The fearless captain would respond: “How do you feel about your freedom? If you aren’t willing to die for it, then you aren’t American.”
“Michelle the army spouse” disagrees with the categorization of him as an “amputee.”
I have to say, though, that I disagree on their characterization of these men as “amputees.” Yes, that is one facet of who they are now, but more importantly, they are soldiers, and they are an inspiration.
Veteran Eric was similary inspired by the story.
