Owens v. Pawlenty
Minnesota and Colorado have a couple of cut-ups as governors. Check out the “your quarter is ugly” back and forth between these guys.
Colorado Gov. Bill Owens:
“I think Minnesota left something to be desired,” he told a number of reporters at the State Capitol. “It has lakes and canoes and big mosquitoes on it.”
…
Later, in a separate interview, Owens went further calling the mosquito the “Minnesota state bird,” and saying “Pawlenty’s a close friend of mine and I enjoy giving him grief. Would you ask him, what’s going on with his quarter? That’s one ugly quarter.”
…
“When Pawlenty comes on, tell him his quarter is an example of what not to do with a quarter.”
But Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty retorted:
“We are undertaking an investigation because I think there’s some subliminal messaging in these mountain peaks depicting Governor Owens in the buff and so we’re concerned about that and it’s something that I think is going to be a revelation in the great state of Colorado.”
Now that’s funny. Particularly when you see the Colorado quarter.
