In a different kind of story from the Village Voice, Nat Hentoff reports that there have been mass demonstrations in Havana, Cuba for freedom. The so-called mainstream media is silent.

Ever since Yahoo hired a retread from ABC to run its news department we have nothing but a drumbeat of what we can only deduce are headlines and articles designed to impugn America. The anti-American headlines always appear in the top two or three positions.

And as we wrote about recently, a “new” version of the Christian Bible has been published by LBI Institute with a female Judith Christ as the main character without a peep about desecration from the so-called mainstream media.

And the beat goes on over and over and over again as we are treated to a daily assault on this country by these so-called mainstream media types. They exalt and protect the enemies of civilization while desecrating America. Doesn’t it strike you as odd that the so-called mainstream media would be having what is tantamount to a love affair with a brutal, tyrannical, enslaving and radical religious movement? And you can tell it’s an assault by these media types because the facts are distorted, “facts” are made up, stories are fabricated and somehow it’s okay to lie, deceive and defraud if it supports your anti-American agenda.

Clearly a pattern is emerging. There is a concerted effort on the part of the so-called mainstream media to denigrate, demoralize, and defeat America during a time of war. It has gone beyond “differing opinions” or someone’s idea of dissent or freedom of the press. There is a hate America/subvert America drumbeat woven through the lines of print and uttered in daily newscasts which only serve to encourage the enemies of civilization as well as America while simultaneously causing the unnecessary deaths of, not only American soldiers and civilian workers, but indigenous peoples whose only desire is to be free.

And I think we can fairly state that there are some politicians who have crossed this line as well, aiding and encouraging the enemy, causing more and more unnecessary deaths, almost revelling in the misery and suffering of enslaved people pretending that their oppressed condition is somehow wonderful.

Clearly their hatred is directed at President Bush, trying to destroy our President in a time of war. But if you view our recent history of the past forty years and you examine the behavior it becomes clear that there is an element in both the so-called mainstream media and the political sphere that abhors this country and will do “whatever it takes” to ensure our defeat.

Is this merely anti-Americanism or is it time to call it for what it appears to be, treason?
