Planned Parenthood Cares About Your Fetus

Posted by Eric at 7:54 pm. Filed under: General

The Illinois house just passed a bill (HB 2492) which would make it illegal to administer an ultrasound without a doctor’s orders.

State Representative Rosemary Mulligan, an abortion advocate, had this to say:

“We should be concerned about the long term health of the fetus,” Mulligan, who has voted against a ban on partial birth abortion, said.

I must admit, her concern for the health of the fetus is touching.

Over at Junkyard Blog, they had this to say:

Why would Planned Parenthood, an industry leader that aborts children and makes millions doing it, care a bit about the safety of children in the womb? Simple. It’s hard to see an ultrasound and remain pro-choice.

Respublica says:

A minor bill my left foot. This bill makes it easier to promote abortion or rather more difficult to convince mothers that they are actually carrying a child.

Meanwhile, in my state, the opposite is happening:

The Indiana House on Monday [dateline: March 29, 2005] night approved legislation 84-12 requiring abortion providers to tell a woman she can see an ultrasound of the fetus or hear the heartbeat, if there is one, before the procedure.

Michelle also has noted the contrast. Hidden nook looks at what the FDA had to say.

Dirty Harry observes the liberal compassion extends not just to fetuses that may be harmed by sonograms but also to chickens - with link to this story that’ll make you chuckle:

A trio of animal-rights protesters didn’t find any welcome mat when they stopped at a KFC, but the restaurant manager did turn on the sprinkler system for them.

Manager John Olivo turned the sprinklers on full blast to soak the protesters from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals who were standing by the curb. They were campaigning for more humane methods of killing.

(Maybe they should try starvation and dehydration….)

But back to the more serious matter at hand. The Illinois Senate has yet to pass the bill. Their contact information is here.

Trackback Spam

Thousands of trackback and comment spam items are coming in… I’ll see if I can deal with it for a few more days. Hopefully that won’t kill off commenting and trackback on this blog as it has on Powerline and maybe in the days ahead on Ms. Malkin’s site.
