Star Struck Congressoids
Gee, what’s with the legislative branch these days? It sure looks like these congresshumans just like seeing star athletes parade across the floor (and maybe enjoying them squirm a bit in the process… the power thing don’tcha know). Can’t you just see them scurrying to get autographs after the cameras are turned off? Is this like stardom by association or what? This is like a made for television moment… a chance to get mugged with a star.
I mean I can understand the jealousy of these congresshumans. Many of these star athletes can’t utter an intelligible sentence and yet their obscene pay dwarfs the take of the legislators, even with the perks and lobbying jobs these folks get after they get booted out of office.
The super star athletes just haven’t figured it out yet. Hey super stars; you have to start sharing the wealth. Make those political contributions big fella, and make ‘em big.
I’ll bet we will soon have a commission… a “bipartisan” commission to be sure… on the effects of large salaries and synthetic glamour on the youth of America… but only as it applies to sports.
But then it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that if you pay folks ridiculous amounts of money to “entertain”, people young and old will do what it takes to participate in the loot… uh, sorry… to achieve that respected level of success.
I wonder who’s up next. Hollywood? Not a chance. They’ve figured it out.
