Ashley Smith, Brian Nichols’ Hostage

Posted by Eric at 4:29 pm. Filed under: General

Ashley Smith’s testimony is incredibly touching. Video is here.

While held hostage for those seven hours, she read Purpose Driven Life to Brian Nichols. She asked him about his purpose in life, what talents he had been given to use and discussed life with him.

Amazing story. Amazing testimony.

Ashley’s a real hero.

  1. There has to be more to the Ashley Smith story. Anybody investigating her?

  2. There’s sort of a piranha feeding frenzy to get facts and form opinions and theories, instead of first caring about the people involved.

  3. definately more to Ashley Smith’s story than we are being told………news paper reports she followed him in her car to ditch the ICE agents truck and she had her cell phone???? She did not call 911 because she was afraid that the police would arrive at the same time he would be in the car with her and she would get caught in gunfire or if she did not follow him he would hurt more people…I am not convinced she is an innocent hostage!!!

  4. i know her personally and yes she did a awesome and heroic deed, but she too has skeletons like Mr Nichols like you and even myself. She got involved with a very close friend of mine and used him to help cope with being alone. She put drugs first, and would get as much from people as she could. In the end she did go to rehab, but she hurt so many people on her selfish road there. I was in love and with the man she used for drugs and lived off of while her daughter came 2nd in her life… She needed a place to stay and he took pity on her due to her tragic past with her husband. He loved me and when he tried to make it right with me the one he loves and recently went thru some of his own heartache (we had a miscarriage) and he was on a down hill path that ended up the best way for us all involved. Good luck Miss Smith stay sober and sane…. God bless you, and forgive you for all the unchristian things you have kept hidden in order to keep you 15 min of fame

  8. I think people whould question Ashley about who stabbed Mack, was it this guy, she supposely didn’t know, I too feell there is more to the story. If she found God, then why doesn’t she take responsiblity of taking care of her daughter, and not her Aunt. I think this whole story is a bunch of bull

  9. I just finished reading Ashley Smith’s book Unlikely Angel and it answers all of your questions. Just read it and you will get a better understanding. I have a question that wasn’t in the book and I want to know if she still talks to Brian Nichols. If they were so close at her house, then why doesn’t it say anything about her and him now? Well i recommend reading her book and congratulations on staying sober and i wish you the best of luck Ashley! I think you did a wonderful job that night and I probably would have done the same. I would like to read more about her and what Brian Nichols is doing now. If anybody has more information please let me know…

  10. I HOPE THAT ASHLEY SMITH IS BACK WITH HER DAUGHTER, AND THE SEVEN
HOURS SHE SPENT WITH BRIAN NICHOLS, DEFINATELY WAS A ‘GOD THING’
IT BROUGHT HER BACK TO JESUS WHERE SHE ONCE WAS. WHEN IS THE CASE
OF BRIAN NICHOLS COMIING TO COURT, SINCE IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE THIS
ORDEAL. WILL ASHLEY HAVE TO BE IN COURT TO TESTIFY? BRIAN WILL HAVE
TO PAY FOR THE CRIMES THAT HE DID. MAY HE FIND HIS PURPOSE IN LIFE EVEN
IN THIS TRAGIC EVENT. ASHELY FOUND HER PURPOSE IT LIFE.

  11. I want an update on Ashley now, and does she ever write Nichols. Did she get Paige back in her own custody, what is she doing today??

  12. I want to know if Asley has ever tried to talk with Brian Nichols. I think she should be thanking Brian along with God for him not killing her. Brian was the one in control. I fell so sad for that man. He made some very wrong decisions, but is a very scared man. My heart goes out to Brian. Not Ashley! I hope she sleeps well at night with her riches. She does have to answer to God, when asked if she has kept in touch with Brian!
    She really makes me mad!

  13. You have no right to be mad at Ashley for not keeping in touch with Brian, do you always make choices in your life based on what others might think about you, we are not walking in Ashley’s shoes and we can’t tell her what to think or what she should do, she knows her own heart better than any one of us, let Ashley live her own life, while we take care of ours. Lets lift her up not tear her down (given the choice, would you have traded places with Ashley the night she was held captive?) everyone needs a break in life please give Ashley one.

  14. I just read the book by Ashley (Unlikely Angel) and I applaud her for opening admitting just how many cruddy decisions she had made in her life. I feel that God definitely had a purpose in bringing Ashley and Brian together. Ashley was able to relate to Brian, gain his trust, and confront him with what he did. Brian brought Ashley to the point where she faced her own mortality and I believe that helped her realize what really WAS important in her life. She is young and has a long life ahead of her. I hope she remembers the lessons she learned and continues to fly straigt now. As far as her being in contact with Brian, that would likely not be wise. As I understand it, his courtcase still isn’t finished yet, is it? I hope there are people who ARE working with him and helping him along the way. Just not so sure SHE is the right one at this time.
