<description>«Even if it were carefully orchestrated, would such orchestration have been wrong? Or brilliant?»

In the interest of american credibility such a move surely would not be brillliant. But, afterall, No WMDs, and the 911-commision has rejected the SH/AQ -nexus claims, so there is really no credibility to maintain. Ad the story of Jessica Lynch (http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,956255,00.html ), add the Patriot Act, add the Guantanemo prison, Abu Ghraib. (sorry for any spelling errors ;)..............

For peace in iraq:
I belive most people early understood that there was a propaganda show going on regarding the capture of Saddam Hussein and the broadcasted images. The iraqies surely didn't stop fighting because of this, and american soldiers are getting killed every day. My guess is that the situation in iraq would not differ much because of that propaganda move. And I do not think it will matter at all for iraqie peace if the official capture story becomes falsfied or verified. One notion here is that a great deal of iraqie resistance is not pro Saddam Hussein, but against the american invasion. Another is that strong SH followers will belive it is american false propaganda anyway.

Maybe such an orchistration would benefit Bush politically in the US. I don't know. I do not understand a second of the american political scene. And as most non-americans I do not understand at all how he could be re-elected. But I understand that there is talking of a strong leader( the Kerry flip-flop campaign fits) and Bush wants to be that strong leader, and ofcourse the strong leader wants to show off his war trophy. And if many americans wants a strong leader, and want to show the world the american muscels, it might have triggered som nationalistic strings showing a Saddam Hussein crushed and scared off to a hole in the ground.

Thats my thougts on the subject anyway.

Best whishes to all
