Korn’s Brian Welch Gets Baptized

KIBBUTZ KINNERET, Israel — Former Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch was baptized Saturday in the Jordan River, just weeks after quitting his band, drug habits and rock-and-roll lifestyle for religion.

He said he plans to release more music without the band.
“My songs are God saying things to me, him talking to people. He’s going to use me to heal people and people are going to be drawn to it, just watch, they will be,” he said.

I love how God speaks to people. This is the real deal!! I used to do drugs and party also and I finally got closer to God by going to church and really listen to the preacher! Since I’ve been asking God to open my eyes and my ears I’m now learning how to get to know Him.I read the bible NIV (New International Version) And I used to look in there now and then but it was all jiberish to me.I got bored and didn’t really care to look again. Now I’m understanding …..Also what helped me is going to bible studies. WOW they help a lot!
I know what Brian means when he says he felt peace after he was babtized. God comforts those in need and when your really seeking him,He’ll open doors that you’ve never knew existed. Prayer works!! He’s answered so many prayers for me and my family now that I’m living for Him. And some people think it’s boring living a Christian life……..And they make fun and don’t want to give up their partying! Let me tell you, you haven’t had a thrill untill you’ve experienced GOD!

Praise God for saving Brian Head Welch. I was once a drug addict, party animal, etc.
But now I am a farmer for Jesus. I try to plant the seed of the gospel every where I can. I want to encourage everyone to do the same. “Go and make disciples of all nations” says the Lord. Brian’s conversion is certainly making alot of people take notice. My friends and I are so stoked about Brian coming to Christ for two reasons. One is that we have a new brother in Christ. Two is that because Head is such a high-profile personality, he is able to have quite a significant impact on many young people. It’s inspiring to me how Christ can reach into anyone’s life, at any time, regardless of who they are or what they’re doing. Jesus is the REAL DEAL and I’m so excited for Brian for his new discovery of God and his love! Praise God!

All I can say is “praise God!” His ways are so amazing and just about the time we think we have it all figured out, He does something so totally out of “our” character for Him. Who would have ever imagined the things He is doing in Brian’s life. His ways are higher-his thoughts are higher, than ours. He never limits us! But we limit him. We certainly can’t put Jesus in a box, all tied up nice and neat and put him on a shelf, just to bring him out as needed. He gets down to hard core realities of life—why?–Because HE is LIFE! Without Him, we have no life. Brian could have just stopped with becoming a christian and kept his own salvation to himself, but thank God he isn’t, because God is certainly turning his life “upside right”! Praise God. I know God has big plans for Brian. Plans that cannot be contained and will reach lost and hurting people that may never go to a church, but will listen to his music. Like Brian said, God loves people. He loves the world. Just not the ugly and the bad things that trap and snare so many of us. He can undo it all. He didn’t come to condem us, but to save us!! I believe what God is doing and is going to do in Brians life is going to be something that we wouldn’t be able to see confined to a church building on Sunday morning. God’s bringing it out! He’s bringing down the walls! I am a 47 year old grandmother and am only a little familar with the group Korn because it was a favorite group of my nephew. Last night when I heard Brian’s testimony on CNN, it touched my heart and renewed my spirit. Sometimes, even christians, we tend to get wrapped up in our own lives and we become discouraged with the all the bad in the world and the people in our family. We may think, well this is how it is, and then God can take just one person and use that person to do his will and reach out to a lost, hurting, and angry world. Anyway, my sister and I have never really been able to talk to my nephew about Jesus without him getting angry, so we just don’t anymore. But we do pray for all the kids in our family. I was excited to hear that Brian is going to release a new cd with songs that God has spoken to him. I’ll be watching for it because when it’s released, I plan on getting one for my nephew. I may even get one for myself. I thank and praise God for what he is doing in Brian’s life and in the lives of others. He does love us! God Bless!!

I am just so blessed by reading Brian’s testimony. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. What a wonderful testimony. Brian is not losing out on anything in this world, He is gaining an eternal home in heaven, and will reap rich rewards of the many lost souls that will find Jesus through his testimony. I know the same can happen for my first cousin Ace Frehley lead guitarist from KISS. He was raised in a christian home, and God can do for him what he did for Brian. Keep believing and trusting and commiting everything to the Lord. HE IS ABLE!!!

I reckon Head is awesome for becoming a Christian. We have been through the same sort of stuff…addiction and depression etc. Although I wasn’t addicted to drugs I was addicted to self-injury. But now I am a Christian and I can still listen to metal and stuff.

It’s amazing that God has drawn Brian Welch to Himself! Just years ago this man was one who no one would expect to come to Christ. Many people have prayed for him, as they do for many celebrities, and God has worked in His heart; now he is in the household of faith. See you don’t have to be perfect to come to Christ. He meets people where they are. This truly testifies to the greatness of God; it shouts the glory of God! I can’t wait to see how the Lord will use this man.

I believe it to be totally awesome that people like Welch and Scott Stapp and others are seeing the light and saving grace of Jesus Christ. What saddens me though, while reading this blog is that some of you say you are christians and still think Korn is the best band ever. Do you believe that what they promote in their music and videos pleases Jesus. If you truly are saved individuals, then you won’t mind me challenging you with this question; Would you be willing to go to a concert of Korn’s or sit at home watching their videos with Jesus by your side after He just told you how much he loved you. Please, I am not trying to judge any member of Korn or anyone in this blog as I have my own sins. I am just merely asking you to truly think about this.
