Al Sharpton v. Bill Cosby

Posted by Eric at 4:41 pm. Filed under: General

According to this report

The Rev. Al Sharpton is calling for a 90-day ban on radio and TV airplay for any performer who uses violence to settle scores or hype albums.

“There has to be a way to step in and regulate what’s going on with the airwaves and with violence,” Sharpton told the Daily News yesterday. “The airwaves are being used to romanticize urban violence.”

On the other hand, addressing parents, Cosby says…

“I’m looking at you, Detroit. It’s not what they’re doing to us, it’s what you’re not doing,”

Dr. Cosby is right. And maybe Mr. Sharpton should encourage parents to be parents and talk to their kids about the filth emitting from their radio, rather than asking the government to step in and regulate. (Or, to be fair, maybe he too has made personal responsibility an emphasis and I have missed it… if so, send me a link and I’ll post it).
