Baby Yahoo.

This takes the cake for acting out of myopic zeal!

A Romanian couple named their son Yahoo as a sign of gratitude for meeting over the Internet, a Bucharest newspaper said on Thursday.

Myopic Zeal Senior Coffee Discount*

Posted by EW at 8:20 am. Filed under: General

From now through the end of January, go into any McDonalds in the U.S., and if you are over age 60 say:

“I read Myopic Zeal’s blog, and I would like a senior cup of coffee please.”

And you will be given a discount on your coffee purchase!

*Void where not valid.

[Post created specifically for LaShawn Barber’s “Open Thread Thursday“]

UPDATE: Ok, ok. Yes, you would get the discount even if you didn’t mention this blog, just by virtue of your age. However, if you mention the blog you might get people to smile at you funny, maybe ask you to repeat yourself, and every time you do, it’s more free publicity for this blog!!! :-D

The Flag in Advertising

Posted by EW at 7:42 am. Filed under: General

In here discussion of the Kid Rock controversy, Michelle Malkin reprints from US Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 8 (d) the rules and regulations on respect for the flag.

I did not know this one:

9. The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

This, for example, should never be done, according to that rule.

Flag Paper Service

Or this.
